Position Overview: Hope Academy, a Christ-centered K-12 school in Minneapolis, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Lower School Operations Coordinator to support the Lower School Principal through operational, communication, and logistical support. This position is crucial in ensuring smooth daily operations, clear communication, and effective event coordination for the Lower School. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of Christian education, have excellent administrative skills, and be adept at managing multiple responsibilities with a servant’s heart.
Operational Support
· Act as a liaison between the principal and staff, parents, and students, ensuring that information flows smoothly and confidentially.
· Manage the principal’s calendar, scheduling meetings, appointments, and maintaining an organized daily agenda.
· Coordinate administrative tasks such as managing email correspondence, drafting documents, and organizing files for easy access and retrieval.
· Oversee office supply inventory and place orders as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the Lower School office.
Communication Support
· Draft, edit, and distribute internal and external communications on behalf of the Lower School Principal, including newsletters, announcements, and reports.
· Respond to inquiries from parents, staff, and external stakeholders, providing information in a timely and Christ-centered manner.
· Facilitate communication between the Lower School Principal and teaching staff, helping to coordinate classroom visits, observations, and follow-ups.
· Ensure consistent communication with families, especially regarding key events, policies, or any changes affecting the Lower School.
· Support the principal in preparing presentations, reports, and other materials for meetings or parent gatherings.
Event Logistics and Support
· Plan and coordinate logistics for Lower School events such as parent-teacher conferences, student performances, staff meetings, and special assemblies.
· Assist in organizing school-wide events and ensure smooth coordination of facilities, materials, and resources for Lower School functions.
· Collaborate with the principal and other staff to ensure that all events align with the school’s Christ-centered mission and reflect the values of the community.
· Manage invitations, RSVPs, and communication for special events, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are informed.
· Support the Lower School Principal in special projects, research, or school initiatives that contribute to the overall mission of Hope Academy.
· Assist with daily operations of the school, including covering for the front office, supervising students as needed, and stepping in where support is required.
· Uphold the values and mission of Hope Academy, modeling Christ-like behavior and fostering a nurturing, faith-filled environment for students and staff alike.
Work Environment
· Reports to the Lower School Principal.
· This role is primarily based on-site at Hope Academy’s campus in Minneapolis.
· Supportive of the school's mission to foster hope in God within the inner-city neighborhood of Minneapolis by providing youth with an outstanding, Christ-centered education.

· Ability to effectively educate in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, and economically disadvantaged urban community.

Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent administrative experience.
· Minimum of 2-3years of experience in an administrative or executive assistant role, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Experience with event planning and logistics management.
· Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
· A collaborative and flexible team player with a positive, servant-hearted attitude.
