Hope Academy is a private, Christ-centered school serving a beautifully diverse community in the heart of urban Minneapolis. We are seeking a passionate, faith-filled Part-Time Music Teacher (.223 FTE) to lead music instruction for our Kindergarten and 1st Grade students.

Job Details

This 0.223 FTE position (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes/day) will focus on engaging our youngest learners in joyful, developmentally appropriate music education that introduces foundational musical concepts, movement, rhythm, and singing in a nurturing classroom environment. The Music Teacher will partner with fellow educators and families to support the academic, spiritual, and social development of our students. Salary range for this position is $9,143-$15,387 depending on education and years of classroom teaching experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach three music classes:  
  • Kindergarten Foundations (3 out of 6 school days)
  • Kindergarten (daily)
  • 1st Grade (daily)
  • Employ an engaging, culturally responsive, and Christ-centered music curriculum
  • Foster a classroom culture of joy, respect, and high expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the music department and across grade levels
  • Prepare and support student participation in seasonal performances or school-wide celebrations as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated love for Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting
  • Degree in music education or related field preferred
  • Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to design/implement joyful, interactive lessons that reflect the school’s commitment to excellence and equity
